    Very good Stay: July 2015

Interesting place, although there is not much sightseeing. Interesting place for families, only the homestead is very far from the parking lot :)

  • The bison show enclosure covers an area of 28 hectares. It is located about 1.3 km from the center of Miedzyzdroje (30 minutes walking distance). Bison have at their disposal inhe 20-hectare enclosure Behind the fence viewing terraces were set up, and the entrance is guarded by an ornamental gate. Four bison from Borek and Bialowieza were brought to the area prepared in this way in July 1976: a cow "Pomina", a bull "Podskakiewicz", and two heifers "Pompeya" and "Podwyżka". Currently, most of the animals living in the bison area were born here. On average, 1-2 calves are born every year. At different times, the number of bison varied from 6 to 12. Currently it is 7. In the show enclosure we can also meet weakened, sick or orphaned roe deer and wild boar in a separate enclosure. When possible, after recovery, these animals are released into the wild. White-tailed eagles are also permanent residents of the enclosure. For example, a bald eagle named Jurand will not be released into the wild because he was born blind and would not be able to cope in a natural environment. All animals are provided with constant care, including veterinary care. On the territory of the bison show enclosure there are for the convenience of tourists: benches, tables, a shelter (possibility to eat, rest), viewing platforms, also for the disabled, and toilets.
