Interesting place, a lot of views well and a train ride ;) There is also a toboggan run, but they close quickly and I did not manage to use it :(
22.06.2016I was with the kids. Cool place to entertain them. There is a summer toboggan run at the top, if you type in google you can easily find descriptions. At the bottom station of the cable car te¿ something for children, pontoon rides. Unfortunately, I went up the mountain by cable car, I also went down, the weather was frightening with rain, so I spared myself and the children from wading through the mud ;-) The end of the day, however, it did not rain. Views from the top of the mountain of the surrounding area.... check it out for yourself
15.08.2012I was there:) pretty cool, and nice views, you can get to the top by train, which is the main means of movement of tourists to the top, because theoretically the road asphaltowa is closed to traffic so those who are not afraid of fines enter there. I personally recommend walking along the trail- healthier;)
22.07.2011Żar (761 meters above sea level) - a peak in the Beskid Andrychowski (eastern part of the Beskid Mały), located on Lake Miedzybrodzkie. In 1935, on the initiative of the League of Defense ofA glider airport was established on Mt. Zar by the Air and Anti-Gas Directorate. Currently there is a gliding and paragliding school. The mountain is very popular with paragliding enthusiasts. At the top of the mountain there is a deltoid-shaped water reservoir of the pumped storage power plant (Porąbka-Żar Power Plant), put into operation in 1979, which completely changed its appearance. It is 650 meters long and 250 meters wide at its widest point and holds 2,310,000 m³ of water with a maximum depth of 28 meters. The reservoir is sealed with several layers of asphalt, overlaid with reinforced concrete. The embankments are more than 30 meters high. Since 1979, Mt. Zar can be accessed by an asphalt road. In 2004 a funicular railroad was launched from Miedzybrodz Zywiec. There is a beautiful panorama of Lake Zywieckie, the Magurka Wilkowicka range and Hrobacza Łąka. In the circles of pseudo-scientists, Mt. Zar is also famous for a paranormal phenomenon - on a certain section of the road leading toward the mountain, according to descriptions in magazines devoted to paranormal phenomena, the force of gravity seems to act in the opposite direction (objects, including cars, "roll uphill"). In reality, this is an optical illusion. The phenomenon is nothing special, it has only been publicized. Incorrect human level recognition in mountainous terrain is a fairly common phenomenon.
