Jezioro Międzybrodzkie - Międzybrodzki Reservoir, an artificial water reservoir on the River Sole, in the Silesian province. It was created in 1937, after the construction of the Porąbka Dam.The lake's capacity is 26,600 thousand cubic meters of water, its area is 3,800 thousand square meters. The length of the lake - from north to south - is about 5 km. The lake was created for flood control purposes. Currently, it also serves a recreational function. The heavy type dam is located above the village of Porąbka. It was built on a rock bed according to the design of Prof. Gabriel Narutowicz and Eng. Tadeusz Baecker by Societe Franco-Polonaise Warsaw. The height of the dam is 37 m and its length is 260 m. There is a hydroelectric power plant at the dam, forming a complex together with a pumped storage power plant commissioned in 1979 on Mt. Zar. Two summer villages are located on the lake - Międzybrodzie Bialskie and Międzybrodzie Zywieckie. The lake is home to many species of fish: pike, zander, carp, roach, perch, mumps, trout, bream, ide, chub, catfish.
