Established by an order of the mayor on October 30, 1975, it focused its activities on issues of history, art, architecture and urban planning, as well as thee music, literature, theater, film and sports. However, issues directly related to Lodz.After thirty years of these activities, the Museum of the History of the City of Lodz has the largest collection in the city illustrating local traditions, national and religious composition, manifestations of creative activities of Lodz residents and people associated with Lodz, independence traditions of the local population. In addition, the museum has created a specialized collection of more than 7,000 prints related to Lodz.
