A wonderful Basilica, a place of tranquility and rest. Beautiful Stations of the Cross and a wonderful painting in the old church. It is worth stopping here to rest for a while from the rushingworld.
23.05.2012In the small town of Lichen, between 1994 and 2004, the largest temple in Poland and one of the largest in the world was built. The initiator of its construction was Fr. Eugeniusz Makulski - the then custodian of the sanctuary.The temple is built on a cruciform plan. It consists of a main part, a bell tower, a tower and three magnificent porticoes. Foreigners visiting Lichen are astonished that it was possible to erect such a beautiful object only from the sacrifices of ordinary people.
