  • CLASSROOM The monastery located on the south side of the church is an unfinished complex; the west wing has not been completed. The south and west wings of the classicsztoru have been demolished. A fragment of the left wing of the complex with a Gothic fraternity from around the mid-15th century has survived. POCYSTERS CHURCH The post-Cistercian Church of the Grace of the Blessed Virgin Mary was given the title of Minor Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1998. The Basilica's two-tower façade is fascinating. The towers were added in 1735.The main entrance to the Basilica - the main portal, is decorated with six sculptures of saints created in 1729-1733.Above it is a sand sculpture depicting the Blessed Virgin Mary Immaculate. Above the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, between the towers, is a sculpture of the Holy Trinity, which depicts the crucified Jesus Christ, above him God and a dove symbolizing the Holy Spirit. Meanwhile, the entrance to the Loretto Chapel is decorated with a sculpture showing two angels carrying the home of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the Lazaretto to Loreto. The main altar, stalls and organ prospectus are closely related to the architecture of the entire church. The interior is covered with a series of monumental paintings. The main altar contains the iconic medieval painting of the Krzeszów Madonna from the 13th century, remembering the abbey's founders (the painting was crowned in 1997 by Pope John Paul II). It is worth mentioning that it is the oldest Marian image in Poland and one of the five oldest in Europe. The stalls, made around 1735, were decomposed and moved in the 19th century. They are currently located at the intersection of the transept. The figural sculptures in them depict four groups of saints, the number of which corresponds to 48 seats, with angels towering over them. The stalls are enriched with bas-reliefs and monochrome painting. The Mausoleum of the Silesian Piasts is integrated into the chancel. It was built simultaneously with the Basilica, the construction of which began in 1728.Most of the paintings and frescoes were created by 1741.It was built for the founders and benefactors of the Krzeszów Abbey. It houses the sarcophagus of Bolek I, Bolek II, and in the middle the sarcophagus of Ladislaus von Zedlitz. The interior of the Mausoleum is covered with monuments of sacred, sculptural and picturesque art. The vaults of the Mausoleum are decorated with rich frescoes depicting the history of the foundation. At present, the Cistercians in Krzeszow are gone, and the parish and church are cared for by diocesan priests.
