At the Kira Chapel, Our Lady of Gietrzwald in her miraculous image has been famous for her graces for many years. Many people have regained their health here and give thanks for the exaltedrequests heard. Since 1972 there has been in Kira, at the entrance to the Koscieliska Valley, a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Gietrzwald, which serves the local faithful as well as tourists. Pastoral service is provided by the Canons Regular of the Lateran. The faithful attending the chapel wanted to see a copy of the painting of Our Lady of Gietrzwald. In 1993, efforts were made to get a new image, which was founded as a votive offering to the Mother of God; the copy was made by the painter Maciej Kajetan Kreutz from Lodz. The cult of the Mother of God at Kira has spread throughout Podhale, Poland, as well as Austria, Germany, Japan, Canada and the USA.
