And my wife and I are very satisfied, the route is beautiful and interesting in terms of geology so the guide pays a lot of attention to it. There is also no shortage of stories about miningknows and history, there is mining equipment and old maps. For us, a super route, without commercial enhancements, So keep it up...We recommend!
22.08.2013I have been and rather moderately recommend. The guide talks mainly about minerals to this not very interesting and there is not much to see. Supposedly a better uranium mine is in Karpaczu but I have not seen with my own eyes
30.08.2011The adit No. 18 of the former uranium mine in Kletno was opened to the public in 2002. It is located about 900 meters from the central parking lot in Kletno, at dr.oga connecting Kletno and Sienna. We walk the route with a guide, viewing attractively lit, large natural deposits of local minerals (fluorite, amethyst, malachite, quartz and others), as well as a number of special exhibits, a collection of maps, mining equipment and tankards. For several years, 20-30 bats of as many as six species have been wintering in the adit, and we can listen to their sounds at a specially prepared presentation. Since the Middle Ages, iron ore, silver, fluorite, copper ore, uranium ore and marble have been periodically mined in the Kleśnica valley. In 1947, Soviet specialists, on Stalin's orders, began prospecting for uranium ore in the area, needed by the USSR for the production of atomic weapons. In the summer of 1948, the heaps near the medieval adits in Kletno were found to be highly radioactive. After their exploitation, the construction of a mine here began, which was named Kopaliny. The temperature inside is about +7°C, there is free parking and a place to light a fire under the mine. The adit is completely safe in terms of radioactive radiation!
