Despite the fact that the yellow lake unexpectedly dried up it was worth coming here. Fabulous landscapes. We did not reach the last green lake, as it dries up the most partej, therefore, since the yellow disappeared, the green all the more we could not expect.
20.08.2015There is a place to which we constantly want to return. "Colorful Lakes" located at an altitude of 560-640 meters above sea level are located in Wieściszowice, a small village near JelenThe lakes are located on the north slope of the Wielka Kopa in the direction of Kamienna Góra. The group of lakes was formed at the site of flooded pyrite pits, crystalline iron sulfides, also known as fool's gold, as the lumps resembled gold. From Vesciszovice you take an asphalt road to the parking lot (paid). The first lake is orange, the second - a little farther away - is green, and the third - much farther away - is blue, but is often dry. While in the Janowickie Ore Mountains, you can't miss the Colorful Lakes formed after intensive mining of pyrite, a crystalline iron sulfide, also known as fool's gold, as the lumps resembled gold. Exploitation ended in the early 20th century and the pits were filled with water, which dissolved the chemical compounds taking on amazing colors. The first lake from the Rêdziny side is the periodic Green Pond, lower down is the small Blue Lake, whose emerald color harmonizes beautifully with the surrounding forest, creating an extremely atmospheric place. Not far from the Blue Lake is the oldest and most picturesque Hoffnung Mine. Entering its grounds, it's hard to resist the cosmic atmosphere created by the bare slopes and cliffs with a rusty-yellow hue, in the midst of which you can admire the Purple Lakes. The Hoffnung Mine is also a dream destination for mineral collectors, who can find fluorite, chalcopyrite and pyrite here, but since the reserve was established here the collectors' passions cannot be continued.
