  • The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, built from the 12th to the 15th century, is one of the most important Gothic buildings in Pomerania and the most magnificent monument of Kamień Pomorski. DeThe decision to build the cathedral was made when the bishopric established in Wolin was transferred to Kamień in 1174. The most valuable piece of equipment is the 17th-century organ. The cross-ribbed and starry vaults of the cathedral are decorated with remnants of medieval paintings - Gospel scenes, floral and symbolic motifs. The vault of the nave shows the scene of the Last Judgment. In the chancel, a Romanesque polychrome from the 13th century depicts the Garden of Eden; there are also two paintings from the famous Cranach painter's workshop.
