  • Lake Wicko is located on the Słowiński Coast in the Postomino municipality and covers an area of 1,059 hectares with a length of 5.1 km and a width of 3.7 It is a coastal lake separated from the sea.zeja covered with forest. The maximum depth is about 6 meters, depending on the season of rainfall and the operation of pumps on the Glownica canal, while the average is about 2 meters. The height of the water surface above sea level is about 0.1 meters. The rivers that feed the lake are Klasztorna, Swidnik and Glownica, which flows out of the channel into the sea. Villages that lie in close proximity to Wicko are Jezierzany, Łącko, Wicko Morskie and Królewo. The northern shore is occupied by the Wicko marine training ground. The lake is divided into two parts, separated by a peninsula into a western (smaller) part and an eastern larger part. Between the peninsula and the northern part of the lake there is a shallow strait with numerous underwater boulders as well as one protruding from the water. On the lake there are four piers suitable for mooring yachts Jezierzany, Łącko,(with toilets, running water and electricity), Wicko Morskie (military pier) and a pier in Królewie. The tourist and accommodation base has developed primarily in Łącko and Jezierzany. At the pier in Łącko there is a cozy beach where you can sunbathe away from the crowds lingering on the sea beach in Jarosławiec. You can rent water equipment, go sailing, pitch a tent, light a bonfire or barbecue. The marina is managed by the Magola Sailing School. At a distance of about 1 kilometer from the marina there is a bakery with delicious pastries and two grocery stores. For those with children there is a playground. The village has retained its old atmosphere of half-timbered buildings. It's worth taking a walk through the village to feel the history at every step. Historical value is shown by the local church with its adjacent square. Its history is described on educational boards. At the local store you can buy a permit to fish on the lake. While at the fishing harbor you can buy fresh fish straight from the lake. Right next to the fishing harbor you can buy honey from the apiary of the village mayor. Walking around Łącko you may come across a gentleman in a gala fireman's uniform is the Chief of the Fire Brigade, a very kind soul who is always there to help in times of need. To the west of Łącko are Jezierzany and Jarosławiec. To eat well we can go to the Pod Orłem restaurant or the Przystań bar with a magnificent terrace overlooking the panorama of Lake Wicko. Moving further west along the Glownica channel we reach the bridge to the Wicko military training ground and the pumping station which regulates the water level of Wicko Lake. Behind the station the channel runs through a coniferous forest all the way to the sea.
