    Very good Stay: July 2005

A very well-preserved monument, a restaurant on site, especially recommended in the summer - a knight's tournament is organized there during the vacations.

  • Golub was annexed to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth by the Second Peace of Torun in 1466, and the castle became the seat of the starosts. In the 17th century it was the residence of Princess Anna Wazowna, sisharp of Sigismund III Vasa. Only here can you climb a real horse staircase, with steps adapted to the horse's capabilities. On the first weekend of July, crowds of knights from all over Europe are drawn to the castle. The heated atmosphere of the tournaments makes everyone feel as if they are in the heart of the events of centuries ago. The arena of the events is a frontier Teutonic stronghold, built on a quadrangle plan on a high escarpment over the Drwęca River.
