I would add that in addition to what is written, an aquarium pavilion was opened. I thought before my visit that the children would get carried away to the limit. However, nothing of the sort happened. A very pleasant time spent!

The City Palm House is a dream place for relaxation. Over 5,600 plants grow on 2,000 sqm, arranged in four thematic pavilions: useful plants, tropical plants, in the historical pavilion and in the succulent pavilion. There you can see Canary Island date palms, subtropical palms, useful plants, as well as aquariums with turtles, reptiles in terrariums or exotic parrots and canaries. The history of the Gliwice Palm House dates back to 1880, when the first exhibition greenhouses, which were private hothouses, were built in the seventeenth-century park. Residents gained access to them from 1930. The main Palm House was opened in 1925. The most interesting feature was the first heated pool in Silesia with a capacity of 120m3. It housed an interesting aquatic plant - the Royal Victoria (Victoria regia). A zoo was created, which included alligators, snakes, turtles and monkeys. In 1936, two baby baboons took up residence in the zoo, and an anaconda was imported from South America. In 1945, the facility was destroyed - it was not reopened until three years later.
