The modern EKOMARINA passenger port with full technical and sanitary facilities, improving the safety of passengers and carriers was built in Giżycko in 2010. Port was built on Lake Niegocin. The Ekomarina harbor is located in a very attractive place, between the walking pier on Lake Niegocin and the railroad tracks, at the main walking route of Giżycko, which is being built between the tourist areas on Niegocin. A footbridge over the tracks has been built near the Ekomarina, with stairs on both sides of the promenade and an elevator for the disabled and people with strollers. It is an excellent vantage point, but most importantly the footbridge connects the harbor and the waterfront of Lake Niegocin with the city center and the promenade, where a service and tourist complex with townhouses, cafes, restaurants, apartments is developing.
