He who has not been here has missed a lot. The whole town is a rarity. The cathedral and its organ are in themselves a pearl of northern Poland. Organ concerts are organized in the summer.GwaI rant to the biggest enemies of sacred music goosebumps all over the body! Also take a look at the water tower in the center and the planetarium, which, although smaller than the one in Chorzów, also has something to offer. Frombork is the best - I'm here every year.

  • A top-class monument in Frombork is the cathedral fortress complex. Destroyed and rebuilt many times, it has nevertheless preserved many basic elements of the medievalof the city's architectural foundation. The oldest building on the Cathedral Hill, and also in the city, is the Cathedral Basilica, erected in 1329-1388. Another important building on the Cathedral Hill is the former palace of the bishops of Warmia. This Gothic-Baroque building (14th-18th centuries), located in the southeastern section of the fortress, burned down in 1945. In 1965-1970 the palace was rebuilt for museum use. Today, permanent exhibitions are open to tourists: "Nicolaus Copernicus", "Frombork in monuments of material culture", "From the history of astronomy", as well as numerous temporary exhibitions: cartography, iconography of cities, history of publishing houses and Warmian book collections. The tallest building on Cathedral Hill is the Gothic-Baroque bell tower, erected in the second half of the 17th century on a defensive octagon that had existed since the middle of the 14th century. The oldest element of the Cathedral Hill fortification is the tower in the northwest corner of the fortress, called Copernicus Tower.
