  • The museum is located in the historic Pressure Tower. The tower was built in 1895, becoming one of the devices for supplying Elk residents with water. Phe water was obtained from six deep wells located in the forest, about 4 km from Elk, and then collected in a retention tank. From there, the water was pumped via a seven-kilometer-long conduit to the very same tower, where it was lifted to its maximum height so that it gained the right pressure and flowed to 80% of Elk residents through a 30-kilometer distribution network. The tower was used for eighty years, until a modern water supply system was built in the 1970s. Today, the Pressure Tower serves solely as a tourist attraction. It houses an establishment with the puzzling name of the Museum of Water Drops. Here you can see the original technical equipment once used to supply the city with drinking water. Thanks to night lighting, the facility also looks attractive after sunset. Open: Tuesday, Friday 10:00-12:00; during the tourist season daily 10:00-16:00 Source: www.egoturystyka.p
