Zieleniec formerly Grunwald is one of the largest ski resorts in the Sudetenland. It lies at an altitude of about 950 m. Above sea level in the Orlickie Mountains range. It was founded in 1719r. like a colony on the royal estate. One of the secrets of the Third Reich leads to it, a very picturesque scenic route - the Orlicka Road, which is part of the Sudeten Highway. There is a specific microclimate here (the only one of its kind in Poland) similar to that of the Alps. Due to the special pressure system of air masses, the local microclimate forces the human body to increase the production of red blood corpuscles, which in effect, significantly improves the well-being of people staying even a few days in Zieleniec. Zieleniec's northern slopes, excellent skiing terrains and a large amount of precipitation in the winter, mean that snow lies here nearly 150 days a year. Zieleniec offers many lifts, lighted slopes, a snowpark, a gutter-halfpipe and more than 200 kilometers of trails for classic skiing. Outside the winter season, Zieleniec is an ideal place for mountain hiking and biking. The most interesting object in Zieleniec is the neo-Romanesque St. Anne's Church, built of fieldstone in 1902.Outside the building, on either side of the main entrance, on columns are Baroque statues of St. Cross of 1866 and Our Lady of 1862 by Johann Postler, coming from the former wooden temple.
