The bust of Chopin (dated 1897) is a memento of the composer's stay in Duszniki-Zdrój. The inscription; "To Frederic Chopin, who in Duszniki in the year 1826 with his true artand high culture noble character of the soul in the dawn of youth, this monument to the eternal memory with the permission of the municipal authorities put up Pole to Pole" has its own history. Initially it was in Latin, and in 1926 it was obliterated, replaced by the inscription: "Friderico Chopino - 1826 - 1897 - 1926″. The original dedication was found in nearby bushes after World War II. The plaque has been hanging damaged since 1947, as a symbol of the Nazis' destruction of Polish culture.
