The Zamenhof monument commemorates the creator of the Esperanto language, who stayed three times in Duszniki for rest and treatment. The Silesian Association of Esperantists wanting to commemorate these wizyty erected a commemorative boulder in August 1931 with a plaque and the text in Esperanto "Al D-ro L. Zamenhof Kreinto de Esperanto" ("To Dr. L. Zamenhof, creator of Esperanto."). During the last war, the Nazi authorities ordered the boulder to be removed and the plaque destroyed. In 1945, the boulder was found in a nearby forest and re-set at Zdrojowa Street. The plaque's surface is decorated with a green, five-pointed Esperanto star.
