Mickiewicza Street is distinguished by its original buildings. It is worth noting the benches placed here, on which the city's coat of arms is carved. In the cobblestones lighting was installed, giving a podusk a remarkable effect. On this street is the Monastery of the Sisters of St. Elizabeth and a plaque commemorating the stay of Edith Stein, who first became enthralled with the mountains while staying in Zieleniec. Edith Stein (Teresa Benedicta of the Cross) was arrested in August 1942 by the Gestapo and, together with other Catholics of Jewish origin, gassed in the German extermination camp Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Since October 1, 1999, she has been the Patroness of Europe.
