    Very good Stay: August 2014

Although I was not in Dolistowo itself, I visited the park from the side of the fortress in Osowiec, there are nature trails there. Due to the fact that on the same day I visited the fortressAnd it took a long time, I was only on one nature trail - a shorter one. The walk took us 1-1.5h. Fauna was scarce - tiny lizards, a photo of which I posted, and some insects besides. To have a complete vision of such a park, you would have to visit it once - at different times of the day (maybe then you can see more animals), and two - at different times of the year. Then you have an overview of the flora, which, after all, looks completely different from month to month.

  • Biebrza National Park was established on 09.09.1993 and is the largest national park in Poland. It is located in the northeastern part of the country, on the territory of woj.he Podlaskie province. The area of the Park is 59223 ha. Forested areas in the Park occupy 15547 ha, agricultural land - 18182 ha, and wasteland - the famous Biebrza Marshes, in fact the most valuable natural ecosystems - 25494 ha. The Biebrza National Park protects vast and almost unchanged valley peatlands with a unique diversity of plant, bird and other animal species and natural ecosystems. The Biebrza Valley is a very important nesting, feeding and resting place for waterfowl, so in 1995 it was included in the list of habitats of the RAMSAR Convention, i.e. wetlands of international importance, especially as habitat for waterfowl.
