  • The Kraków-Częstochowa Upland (341.3) - also known as Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska - is the eastern part of the Silesian-Cracow Upland with a length of about 80 km, which extends sia from Cracow to Czestochowa where a belt of hills rises from 300-515 m above sea level. In two areas the Upland rises above the height of 500 m above sea level. The highest place is in the area of Ogrodzieniec - Góra Zamkowa or Janowskiego Mountain (515.6 m above sea level. Built of Upper Jurassic limestone. Characteristic are limestone rocks cut by erosion valleys, as well as karst phenomena such as caves with stalactites, stalagmites and stalagnates. The area of the mouth of the Warta River northwest of Czestochowa is the place with the most caves in Poland. The Jurassic area has a very interesting geological past. It was flooded by the sea more than once, which resulted in the formation of many layers of rocks (dolomites, marls, limestone). The longest is the Wierna cave of more than 1,020 meters, the deepest Studnisko 75.5 meters. They are the shelter of a large population of bats. The most numerous clusters of caves exist in the area of Zloty Potok, Olsztyn, Sokolich Gory and so within 30 km from Czestochowa. Thanks to the favorable relief of the terrain, the area of the Krakow-Czestochowa Upland was a good place to build defensive fortresses. Many castles were built here, which form the so-called "Trail of the Eagles' Nests." There are plenty of buildings to visit. There are rock climbing areas or ATV trails. Due to the beauty of the landscape, Wyżyna is one of the most attractive tourist regions in Poland. Jura is the climbing capital of Poland. There are many walls officially designated for this purpose, marked on a scale of 1 to 6 in terms of difficulty. One of the places particularly favored by climbing enthusiasts is Rzędkowice near Zawiercie, where there is a whole complex of limestone walls ideally suited for this sport of varying degrees of difficulty. There is also something for beachgoers. There is the Porajskie Lake.
