    Unique Stay: September 2020

A super place worth visiting. The machines are very impressive, both the tiny ones and the biggest ones. I recommend wholeheartedly

    Very good Stay: May 2012

Cool! I will also be this year AND compare if it is better than 2 years ago. The guides could be prepared for a group of small children. The train from the movie "Awantura o Basia" phe should always be available, because this is the only way children can compare the conditions of rail travel when today.

  • The open-air rolling stock museum in Chabówka was opened in 1994 on the site of a former steam locomotive depot, built during World War II. The collection of exhibits beganAs early as the mid-1980s, an exhibition consisting of decommissioned steam locomotives, electric and diesel locomotives, as well as plows, cranes, etc., was set up on several tracks and revitalized. Some of them have been restored to full working order, so that today they can run trainsets assembled from historic cars. The open-air museum has in working order: * steam locomotives: Ol12-7, Ol49-100, OKz32-2, Tr12-25, Ty2-911, Ty2-953, TKt48-191 TKh49-1 (Ferrum) * diesel car SN61-168, * electric locomotives: EP03-01, ET21-57, * cars: passenger, baggage, mail and freight. For the operation of active steam locomotives, facilities were left to supply coal and water and clean the furnace. The location of the Open Air Railway Museum in Chabówka was favored by the proximity of one of the most beautiful railroad lines in Poland from Chabówka through Mszana Dolna, Limanowa to Nowy Sącz, which, resisting electrification and modernization, has preserved to this day a unique and original railroad infrastructure. Currently, the Chabówka Open Air Railway Museum has the most numerous and interesting collection of antique rolling stock in terms of variety. Every year the Chabówka Open Air Railway Museum is visited by tens of thousands of people from Poland and abroad. The preserved technical infrastructure and an experienced team of employees make it possible to carry out inspection and major repairs of steam locomotives and retro wagons. Thanks to this, the open-air museum in Chabówka can carry out orders on an ongoing basis to run retro trains with a customized program, and rent rolling stock for film shoots in accordance with historical realities. It was from Chabowka that active museum rolling stock was rented for the production of films entitled "Schindler's List". "Schindler's List", "Scraps", "Przedwiośnie", "Fame and Glory", "The Adventures of the Brave Warrior Szwejk", "Gold of the Deserters", "Aryan Couple", "Karol", "Summer Love", "Satan of the Seventh Class", "Katyn", "Doctor Halina" (TVP Theater), "The Winds of Kolyma". For those interested in a longer stay, the Heritage Park offers 50 beds in 2-, 3- and 4-bed rooms. Guests have at their disposal a kitchen, a fireplace room, a common room and a playground for children, a barbecue and free parking.
