Amazing atmosphere, a place for imaginative people and those looking for the mysteries of the past, beautiful especially in autumn when the surrounding hills turn red and gold!
Yaroslavl - 10.10.2008A fragment of an old wall sticks out of a thicket of bushes and trees. That's all that's left of the famous Esterka castle, which once towered over Bochotnica, near Kazimierz Dolny. VillageThe rumor has it that Casimir the Great built the castle for his beautiful Jewish mistress Esther. Reportedly, the ruler, not of the first youth, visited her through an underground tunnel from Kazimers castle. Built in the mid-14th century, the castle was in fact the work of the Firlej family. In its heyday it was surrounded by a wide moat. In the 15thw it became a nest of robbers led by Anna Zbąska.
