01.05.2014Laseckich Gate is located right next to the reconstructed Bobolice Castle in Jura Krakowsko-Czestochowska. It is formed by a rock formation over 100 million years ago, in oJurassic period. The gate was shaped by weathering and erosion processes. The rock that formed it was subjected to thousands of years of exposure to wind and water, which systematically washed away the less durable material until the rock form known as the gate was formed. For the past several decades, the gate was hidden among dense shrubbery and covered by a thick layer of garbage dumped here. After the vegetation was cleared and the area cleaned up, it once again revealed its beauty. A staircase carved into the rock was found under the gate, probably a remnant of the path leading from the village to the castle. In honor of the current owners of Bobolice Castle, the outlier was named Lasecky Gate.
