Not far from Sandomierz, and the ruins of Krzyżtopór Castle in Ujazd, it is worth visiting the beautiful Castle in Baranów Sandomierski, whose vaults house the Ryce Armoryrska. The guide to the armory is the truest knight, who has an extraordinary ability to tell stories, and extensive historical knowledge, which he gained by participating in many battles and sieges as a "modern knight" from the knight's brotherhood. During the tour, tourists will see the torture room, learn about the executioner's working methods and interesting facts about his profession, see what the torture tools looked like, as well as for what offenses the various punishments were applied. In the next room, visitors will learn about the fashion that prevailed in the old days, and finally see the arsenal - an exhibition of offensive weapons and protective armament of medieval knights, Polish nobility, and musketeers. There is also an artillery position of a 17th-century Swedish unit vividly depicted during the "Swedish Deluge." In the armory there are more than 30 mannequins dressed in costumes and armor from the 12th to 17th centuries. At the end of the adventure in the armory, every tourist can momentarily feel like a knight or a lady of the court. There is a historical changing room at the visitors' disposal, where there are knights' costumes and armor, white weapons, and for ladies, gowns. Photos can be taken at all times during the tour. The Armory also hosts living history lessons, organized especially for school students, as well as for organized groups of adults. Of course, being in Baranow, it is mandatory to visit the chambers of the Renaissance castle, also known as "Little Wawel" or "Pearl of the Renaissance." During the tourist season, temporary exhibitions with very interesting themes are organized at the castle. The castle gardens are also worth a visit. There are three types of gardens: English-style, Italian-style and French-style. For those who like to spend time actively, there is a golf course on the castle grounds, which is at the disposal of all those who wish to do so. You can dine in the castle restaurant, or you can stay longer and spend the night in the three-star castle hotel. At a distance of only 11 km. going in the direction of Sandomierz, there is a beautiful and large Tarnobrzeskie Lake. Here you can relax by sunbathing on the beach, swimming in the very clear water, or go sailing, kayaking or pedal boating. The reservoir has an area of more than 450 ha. and the maximum depth is 40 m. It is an excellent place for divers, who like to come here because of the very clear water and great depth. It is also a dream destination for anglers. In winter in the area you can go skiing on two nearby ski slopes in Siedleszczany (5km.) and in Konary (34 km.). To Sandomierz we have only 35 km, and to Ujazd where are the ruins of Krzyżtopór Castle only 40 km. Going to Sandomierz it is worth stopping by Dzikowski Castle in Tarnobrzeg on the way. At a distance of 40 km. there is a beautiful open-air museum in Kolbuszowa, while for children it will be quite an attraction to visit Koziołek Matołek - the center of the fairy tale in Pacanów is just 55 km. from Baranów Sandomierski.
