  • Arkadia is home to a romantic garden in the English style, its founder was Helena of Przeździecki, wife of Michał Hieronim Radziwiłł owner of the nearby Nieborowa. The main designer of Arkadia was Szymon Bogumił Zug, The duchess began to establish the garden in 1778, and developed and composed it until her death. Helena Radziwill gathered in Arkadia a rich collection of antique art and antique sculptures and copies of antique works, as well as "antiquities" of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, from which she created a kind of museum in the Temple of Diana. It contains the Head of Niobe, the Bust of a Roman, Greco-Roman steles, sarcophagi and tomb urns, garden ornaments, lapidary architectural elements and antiquity objects, such as the sculpture of the Sleeping Ariadne, the bust of Meleagro, a young Roman, the Tripod of Stanislaw Augustus, as well as the Mannerist Mascaron of Guglielmo della Porta and the crests chiseled by Michalowicz of Urzędów. Similar in nature are works of art commissioned by the duchess, such as St. Cecilia chiseled by Pietro Staggi and the Genius of Death by Ivan Martos. A peculiarity of the collection are the "babas" brought by the duchess from Podolia, cultic sculptures of the half-tribe from the 12th-13th centuries.
